Crochet – In the Round

When crocheting in the round you're still basically working one "row" at a time, but at the end of your "row" (or round) you're joining to the beginning, bumping up to the next round with a turning chain, then continuing around again…

A turning chain is created at the beginning of each round to simulate a stitch in the stitch pattern.

A single crochet would usually only have 1 chain; a half double crochet would use 2 chains; a double crochet would use 3 chains and so on.

Work around for as many stitches as indicated in your pattern counting your turning chain as the first stitch (unless otherwise specified). Slip stitch into the top of the turning chain (or indicated stitch) to join the round. Then repeat these steps for each round.
