Cables:

To make a right slanting cable: slip the first set of cable stitches to a cable needle and hold them in the back of your work (photo 1) while you knit the other portion of the cable stitches (photo 2) from the left hand needle.

Then knit the stitches from the cable needle or slip them back to the left hand needle and knit them from there (photo 3).

To make a left slanting cable: slip the first set of cable stitches to a cable needle and hold them in front of your work (photo 5) while you knit the other portion of the cable stitches (photo 6) from the left hand needle.

Then knit the stitches from the cable needle or slip them back to the left hand needle and knit them from there (photo 3).
