Classic Elite Yarns

Countdown to Issue 500 – new giveaways each week!
Issue 499 – Tulips Cardigan

As we continue our lead up to the 500th Web-Letter – this week we feature a pattern by Julie Hoff Weisenberger who you might know now as Cocoknits. Julie began designing for Classic Elite Yarns in the late 1980s and her artistic style and flair can be found in many patterns of the time incorporating intarsia, cables, fair isle and often a combination of these. While her aesthetic has changed over the decades, her designs remain classic and wearable.

From Julie:

Seeing the tulip design brings back such fun memories of designing for Classic Elite Yarns! I remember knitting this cardigan for a friend's baby...who is now all grown up, hard to believe it's been so long!
Since then, I have scaled back the color and stitch pattern and focused on designing simple, wearable, flattering silhouettes, mostly for women. I have also developed a line of knitting tools and just finished a book on my unique methods for top-down, seamless sweaters. You can find it all on my website,

Thanks for the stroll down memory lane!

Julie has designed many projects for Classic Elite Yarns through the years – check them out on Patternfish. You just might find an oldie but goodie that you too could breathe new life into!

Our giveaway continues! Don't forget to leave your comment about this week's pattern in our Ravelry group. Our giveaway for this week is enough Provence to make this sweater. To find out more about our 500th Web-Letter contest, click here.

Thank you for loving Classic Elite Yarns as much as we do,
