Classic Elite Yarns

Issue 495 – Countdown to Issue 500

My name is Tracy Russell and I am super excited to be working at Classic Elite Yarns as the new Sales Manager. I have been knitting with and selling Classic Elite Yarns for many, many years! One of my all-time favorites is La Gran.

I love La Gran! For my knitting friends who already know me, this is no surprise. My new colleagues at CEY may have heard me mentioned this fact more than a few times. I love La Gran!

Why this love for a yarn made up of mohair, wool and nylon? I'll tell you why! La Gran is a beautiful yarn that withstands the test of time. It has been around almost as long as I have! One of my favorite sweaters that I have ever knit (and I've knit a lot of sweaters) is the Cabled Cardigan from VK 2002 designed by Kathy Lacher. Kathy's sweater was inspired by CEY's pattern #396 designed by Kristin Nicholas in 1992. Have you done the math? That's 25 years ago!

No matter what fantastic Classic Elite yarn you decide to knit with, you can be sure to find plenty of pattern ideas and inspirations. There are hundreds of free patterns available for download in our Web-Letter archives and many of our older patterns are archived on Patternfish.

We are nearing the publication of our 500th Web-Letter! In honor of this milestone and to recognize Classic Elite Yarn's rich history in this industry, we will be highlighting five designers who have worked with Classic Elite in the past and are still active in the fiber arts industry. Beginning April 25 and each week after that leading up to the 500th Web-Letter, look for our updated versions of some of our favorite archived patterns.

We have prizes! Read the upcoming Web-Letters, then go to our Ravelry group to leave a comment. Each week we will randomly select one comment and that lucky reader will receive a pattern (or patterns) and YARN! Our way of saying thank you to all the knitters out there who have helped make Classic Elite great!

What's not to love – free patterns, timeless designs and some of the industry's best yarns means you will have finished project that you can wear for many years with comfort and pride. Oh, and have I mentioned how much I love La Gran??
