La Gran Colorwork Yoke Pullover

This week's pattern proves that good design is timeless and never goes out of style. Designed in La Gran by Kristin Nicholas, this throwback to last century (1989) looks just as current today as it did way back when. La Gran has been around since the beginning of CEY in the 1980's and continues to be a favorite of knitters everywhere. Worked in the round from the bottom up, we've tapered the sleeves a bit in this new version and changed the colors to show currently available colors of La Gran.

The original pattern is available to purchase on along with decades worth of vintage La Gran designs. For even more patterns in La Gran, check out our Web-Letter archive.

Our flagship yarn, La Gran has been part of the Classic Elite Yarns collection since the very beginning in the mid 1980's. With plenty of colors to choose from, you're sure to find just the right one for your special project!

Mohair is fine and lustrous and has many of the good qualities of wool. It can absorb moisture yet still feel warm and dry and mohair shows color beautifully! Lightweight and airy, La Gran is spun with a strong binder–a combination of wool and nylon–to secure the fluffier mohair fibers.

Featuring Tea Time

Another favorite in La Gran: Tea Time can be knit as a shrug or long sleeve cardigan.
