Classic Elite Yarns

Issue 402 – Hope

I have a weakness for a good cotton/wool blend yarn and Song, our newest yarn, has me itching to cast on. The question is: What do I want to knit first with Song? My queue is a mile long and many of the designs there would work well in Song. It does colorwork beautifully and would be great for a two color Nordic style or colorwork yoke pullover, or with such wonderful stitch definition, it would make a classic Aran that could become my new I-want-to-wear-it-everyday sweater. And the eyelet covered cardigan, our WebLetter pattern this week designed by Tian Foley, is gorgeous!

Read more about Song below – once you get this yarn in your hands, you'll share in my dilemma of what to cast on first.

The Yarn

50% cotton, 50% wool

Cotton and wool combine in this simply luxurious dk weight yarn in a sophisticated palette. The wool and cotton fibers are blended before spinning then eight plies are twisted together resulting in a smooth, silken yarn with excellent stitch definition. Perfect for year round wear, whether cables, lace, colorwork or plain stockinette, Song does it all beautifully! Understated and elegant, Song is a yarn you will want to return to again and again.
