Issue 398 – Firefly Mesh Scarf

Scarves aren't only for colder weather – scarves are very useful in the summer too! A scarf can keep you from getting chilled in the AC or stiff breeze but is easily removed when the sun is heating up or the breeze stops. A scarf is also a good necklace alternative for a plain dress or tee.

This easy to knit mesh scarf has options – unadorned without fringe or with fringe, in the same or a contrasting color. You can place fringe at cast on and bind off ends or up the entire length of one side as shown.

The Yarn

25% linen, 75% viscose

Firefly is a warm-weather yarn with a subtle sheen and wonderful hand. The juxtaposition of the linen with a light-catching sheen gives it a distinctly feminine look. Firefly drapes wonderfully at a wide range of gauges - knit loosely for elegant lace or more tightly for stockinette fabrics.
