Issue 377 – Toboggan Headband

I sighed a big sigh this week. Holiday knitting is over. The decorations have been put away. Some sports are shifting into high gear; others are winding down. And I'll get to knit for me for awhile.

With much much lower temps across the country, it's also a great time to knit something that is practical in this frigid weather. I'm not a hat lover; I much prefer earmuffs or a headband to keep my ears toasty. This Toboggan headband is perfect. I can knit one up over a weekend – after all, it only takes one hank. I can make more than one – a red one for me; a blue one for my daughter. And it's practical – I can be wearing it for that sledding/skiing/snowboarding trip I (should) have planned!

The Yarn

70% Merino • 30% Superfine Alpaca

Toboggan is a blend of merino wool and superfine alpaca twisted into a soft, weighty skein of bulky yarn. The double ply and unbelievably soft hand contribute to buttery soft and lofty winter garments and accessories.

Quick Projects

If you are looking for quick knits that will keep you toasty for the next couple of months, be sure to take advantage of our bulky yarns, like Toboggan, Blackthorn/ Wynter, or maybe even Chalet/ Chateau. Below you will find accessories that are as toasty as toasty can be.
