Issue 282 – Lacy Rib Cowl in Vista

Cowls are everywhere and with good reason – they do the job of a scarf without unwinding and falling off your shoulders. This week's pattern, designed by Meg Myers, is a warm and cozy cowl with a dainty lace pattern set on the diagonal and sturdy garter stitch edges.

The Yarn

MountainTop Vista
50% Superfine Alpaca • 50% Wool

Vista is a member of the Mountaintop Collection of yarns spun with natural undyed fibers that you have to see and feel to truly appreciate. Vista, which is interchangeable with 100% wool Crestone, is a lovely blend of superfine alpaca and wool in eight natural shades. The blend produces a durable yarn that is long-wearing while still maintaining a soft hand, perfect for all kinds of garments and accessories.

The Road Not Taken – the runaway hit!

We are very fond of all our designs, but that isn't to say that we don't love a few patterns more than others (shhh!). The Road Not Taken pattern booklet is stuffed with seven beatufiul designs knit in Crestone and Vista. Dust of Snow (top left) even inspired an office knit-a-long.

Clockwise from the top left: Dust of Snow, a relaxed-fit, open cardigan with bold cables; Devotion, a cap sleeve pullover with a squre neck and cable panel at center front and back; Hyla Brook, a two-tone curved bag; Lure of the West, a scoop-neck cardigan vest; Dedication, an oversized pullover with colorwork yoke; Birches, a fitted hat with wide reverse stockinette stitch stripes; Gathering Leaves, mittens with an afterthought thumb and two cuff options.

Look for the The Road Not Taken pattern booklet at your LYS or purchase the patterns online
