Issue 275 – Buttoned Neck Scarf in Toboggan

Worked from the top down in Garter stitch, this neck scarf gets its flared silhouette from dropped stitches. Eyelets along the cast on edge can serve as buttonholes, as shown, or weave a ribbon through the eyelets and tie to adjust fit.

The Yarn

Toboggan
70% Merino • 30% Superfine Alpaca

Toboggan is a blend of merino wool and superfine alpaca twisted into a soft, weighty skein of bulky yarn, 87 yards per 100 gram hank. The double ply and unbelievably soft hand contribute to buttery soft and lofty winter garments and accessories.

Chill Chasers – five patterns in Toboggan

At 2¾ stitches per inch on US 10½, you can knit up a Toboggan project in a snap! The dedicated pattern booklet, Chill Chasers #9203, features many of the 21 saturated Toboggan colorways.

Clockwise from the top left, patterns include: January Thaw, a striped raglan cardigan; Winter Warmth, a slouchy textured hat; Frostbite, an oversized pullover with zig-zag colorwork; Jack Frost, an easy-to-knit scarf; Warm & Toasty, a simple cowl worked in the round with fringe on the bottom.
