Classic Elite Yarns

Issue 274 – Basic Montera Hat

This basic hat pattern is a blank canvas for design options. Work extra rows after the ribbing for a slouchier version or work a longer rib for a foldover brim with a more snug fit. For a more colorful version work the hat in stripes or add a stranded colorwork band after the rib - a chart with a stitch repeat of 3, 4, 6, 8, 9 or 12 stitches will fit perfectly. Or, knit it as written for a quick and warm hat that uses exactly one hank of Montera.
