Issue 270 – Precious Sweater in Pirouette

Laura Zukaite is one prolific designer! Ever stylish and on trend, Laura creates her own line of hand knit patterns as well as freelance designs - The cover of Vogue Knitting Holiday 2012 is Laura's design in our Mountaintop Vista (view Laura's cover here, where you can also enter to win a cover kit from Vogue Knitting).

This week's pattern is part of the result of her collaboration with the South African mill that spins our lovely laceweight and ethereal Pirouette. A great piece for layering over dresses or camisoles, the wide neckline is flattering and feminine.

The Yarn

67% Kid Mohair, 25% Bamboo, 8% Nylon

Pirouette is a delicate mohair and bamboo blend, available in twenty-five distinct colors. At 246 yards per ball, it is an incredibly beautiful and affordable alternative to mohair-silk blends. The gauge is versatile, making this just as airy and beautiful on a US3 or a US8.

Garments knit in Pirouette make great use of this versatility, piece can be knit with one, two or even three strands held together for dramatically different looks.
