Issue 244 – Sanibel Lace Shawl

I love making shawls because they're so versatile. You can wear them as wraps on a cool spring or summer night, and transition them to scarves for fall. Sanibel's palette, from earth tones to fun summer pastels, makes it the perfect yarn for seasonal transitions, not to mention it has subtle color shading and drape that make this shawl suitable for day or evening wear.

I also love a pattern with only a few rows to repeat so I can pick it up at any time and not have to worry about where I left off. This stitch is a variation on the *yo, k2tog* lace pattern, but I find it easier to purl 2 together rather than knit 2 together, so the pattern is actually worked on the wrong side. The stitch can be repeated to make the shawl as large as you would like. Happy knitting!

The Yarn:

Sanibel

Sanibel
42% Cotton, 58% Viscose

Sanibel is our fashion yarn: understated, feminine and chic, with a touch of glitz that makes a statement for both daytime and evening wear . The drape is alluring, the hand soft, and the palette sophisticated. Sanibel is perfect for anyone who wants a little excitement in their stash.
