Web-Letter Issue 208 – Pirouette Flower Scarf

Pirouette is the perfect name for this yarn; it evokes delicacy, femininity, and strength. Mohair and bamboo combine to create a yarn with delicate halo and a strong core with just enough shine. This scarf by Susan Mills embodies each of the qualities described above, and dare I say it makes a great gift?

The scarf itself is a simple one, a single strand worked in garter stitch. The real stars are the tiny crocheted flowers cleverly knit into the fabric of the scarf as you work. With Pirouette's affordability, you can choose multiple colors and create your own miniature garden!

The Yarn

Pirouette
67% kid mohair • 25% bamboo • 8% nylon

Pirouette is a delicate mohair and bamboo blend, available in twenty distinct colors. At 246 yards per ball, this is an incredibly beautiful and affordable alternative to mohair-silk blends. The gauge is versatile, making this just as airy and beautiful on a US3 or a US8.

From our Fall 2011 collection, Pirouette is a collection of six patterns, all knit in the our new mohair and bamboo blend by the same name. The patterns make great use of Pirouette's gauge versatility, featuring pieces knit with one, two or even three strands held together for dramatically different looks. You can also find Pirouette in the booklet Panache, a collection of shawls, wraps and scarves with four styles, five yarns and seven designs.
