Web-Letter, Issue 149 – Allegoro Staff Project

Here at Classic Elite conversations around the lunch table are usually all about yarn (of course!). We discuss what we are knitting, what we want to knit and debate the merits of particular yarns and patterns. And so at lunch one day, while discussing Allegoro, we were all of the same opinion that Allegoro was the perfect yarn to knit with for the kitchen—napkins, table runners, place mats, etc; and agreed this would make a great Web-Letter topic. So a group of us committed to the challenge, picked a color of Allegoro and then headed in different directions as our results clearly show.

The Story:

Tonia Barry, Andi Clark, Susan Mills and Meg Myers each designed and created a unique kitchen accessory. The newest CEY team-member, Chelsea Gable has interviewed each of them to learn what inspired their design. Read about what she learned on CEY's new blog:

The Yarn:

Allegoro
70% organic cotton, 30% linen

Allegoro is a blend of 70% organically grown cotton and 30% linen: enough linen to give a  summery linen crispness and cotton to add softness and keep the yarn from getting too wiry (as pure linen is prone to do).  In keeping with its earth-friendly fiber content, Allegoro is dyed using GOTS certified non-toxic dyes. (You can find out more about GOTS standards here: www.global-standard.org.) These dyes yield beautiful soft colors and Allegoro comes in 13 enticing shades.
